Thing #1 I Love About Chicago

The Parks
I was pretty amazed by the amount of green space that was available in Chicago. Sure it's an urban sprawl with buildings and concrete walls. But, the Chicago Park District does a great job of providing and maintaining the city's parks. It's amazing that you can go to free concerts, take your dog to the beach and stroll through an art installation by a local artist. The parks are not only available, but they welcome you to take a moment and appreciate all the beauty that is right outside your door.

Montrose Dog Beach
An off leash dog beach on the north side of the city that is dedicated to our four-legged friends. It can be a mad house on the weekends, but Hank never seems to mind.

Millenium Park/Grant Park
Art installations and free concerts at the Jay Pritzger Pavilion. It truly is an oasis in the heart of the city.

Lincoln Park
Home of the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, it boasts some of the best views of the city skyline and lakefront.
